Due to the fertile soil, the sacred valley in the peruvian andes was very popular to the incas. It is a beautiful piece of earth, criss-crossed by countless small creeks and rivers, with snow-covered mountains and many pre-columbian ruins. Based on this natural environment a special adventure-tourism has develóped, with its center in the small town of Urubamba. Here you can book any kind of tours with a canoe, mountain-biking, treks or horseriding.

At 7 a.m., we start from your hotel towards Pisac in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We stop at Awanacancha, a zoo with a variety of southamerican camelids. We take a photo stop at the mirador of Taray with an amazing view into the Valley, with crops dressing the mountan like a carpet. At the archaeological site in Pisac, we find the biggest pre-inca cementary of South America, with more than 2000 tombs. We admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain, explore the religious area of this important site. In 2 hours we have enough time to explore this fantastic citadel. In the town of Pisac we will search for handicrafts and other treasures at the colorful market in the Plaza. Then we drive to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious lunch.
We start the afternoon with the visit of the “Inca-Greenhouses” in Moray, a mystical place with timeless charm, cultivated by the Incas for agricultural purposes.
Continuing our way, we stop in Maras, a colonial village and then head downhill to the pre-inca saltmines “Salineras”. The procedures to extract salt haven´t changed throughout the centuries.
To end our tour, we explore the beautiful inca village Ollantaytambo with its massive inca ruins.

Return to Cusco

Das schöne Heilige Tal in den peruanischen Anden war bei den Inkas sehr beliebt, da die Erde sehr fruchtbar ist und die ganze Region von unzähligen kleinen Bächen und Flüssen durchzogen ist. Hier kann der Reisende die Schönheit der Landschaft, die schneebedeckten Berggipfel und die vielen Prä-Kolumbianischen Ruinen bewundern. Einige Stätten die im Heiligen Inkatal besucht werden, sind die Salzminen von Maras, die archäologische Stätte Moray und das malerische Dorf “Chinchero”, das auf einer Höhe von 3.700 m liegt.
