During this tour, we hike through really cold climate as well through the warm climate of the high rain forest, surrounded by its typical vegetation. Here you will dive into a magical adventure, with many attractions in this wonderful nature, including a “downhill Mountain-Bike-tour” und a jungle- trail to Machu Picchu. .

1st day: Cusco – Santa Maria/Mountain Bike

After pick up from your hotel between 7:00 am to 8:00 am, we drive to Ollantaytambo where we will make a short stop for breakfast, then drive on to the Abra Malaga mountain at 4,350 m, starting point of our bike tour through the inca jungle, after a briefing by our guide, we begin our downhill biking for 3 hours to the Huamanmarca village. We get a small guided tour to the archaeological site, have our fist lunch and continue through meadow orchards and over small streams to the town of Santa Maria, where we have dinner and spend our first night. During the mountain bike tour, we will be accompanied by the tour guide and a car for emergencies.

2nd day: trek from Santa Maria to Santa Teresa

After an early breakfast, we start to walk along the river, seeing different animals, as birds (humming-birds, parrots, eagles), wildcats, lizards, but also countless healing-plants and fruits (bananas, mango, oranges, coca, coffee, cocoa, etc.) In Quellomayo, we will rest and have a delicous lunch. After a walk of another hour, we get to our shuttle in Santa Teresa, where we have dinner and stay for the night.

3rd day: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes

After or before breakfast you have time to play “Tarzan” in the treetops or just be lazy in a hammock at our Lodge. Around 10 a.m., we drive to the Peru´s most important Hydroelectric power plant and walk for 5 more hours, along the railway line to Aguas Calientes. In the evening you might relax in the local hot springs, have dinner and rest for the big day.

4.Tag: Machu Picchu/Cusco

This could be the most important day of the tour. We drive up with the first bus to Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world, to enjoy the sunrise at the Inca citadel. Then we walk to the highest point to start our guided tour (2 hours). Afterwards you will have enough time to explore the lost inca city by yourself. Then you go back down to Aguas Calientes, receive the train-tickets from your tour guide, to get back to Ollantaytambo and then with our private van to Cusco, where you will arrive around 11 p.m.
